Wednesday Bible Study resumes tonight, August 4 at 7 p.m. in the All-Occasion Room with Bill Amers. Everyone welcome to join us.

First United Methodist Church T-shirts are in. Pick up your pre-ordered shirt after the service in the back of the sanctuary.

Upper Room Devotionals for July/August are on the book tables at either entrance to the sanctuary for those who wish a copy. Donations are appreciated.

This Sunday, May 30, Patricia Croley will be with the youth from South Dakota to talk about Crowe Creek Indian Reservation. She would like for us to bring the following items for her to take to the Elementary Incentive Store:

  • Appropriate DVD movies
  • Individually wrapped candy and bubble gum
  • Hot Wheel or Matchbox cars and other small toy vehicles
  • Dolls
  • Outdoor toys (balls, plastic bats, etc.)
  • Sidewalk chalk
  • Bubbles
  • Anything appropriate for K through 5th graders.

We are collecting the items in the box provided in the Elevator Entry Room.

Patricia will have to take these items back in her small P.T. Cruiser car, so nothing very large please.

The church office would like to have information on all High School and College graduates by May 30. Forms will be available at the back of the sanctuary or in the church office, or call and we can mail one to you. You may also email your info to Sue at ssm@cinergymetro.net. Thanks for your help!

Just a reminder that this coming Friday, May 21st is the Patriotic Ring & Sing at two local assisted living facilities. We’re leaving from FUMC at 5 PM, so if you want to practice with the handchimes, be there a little early (say 4:40 PM). We’re wearing RED, WHITE, and BLUE! We need ringers, singers, and people to hand out goodies. If you have a little flag you want to bring to wave or some cool flag pin, headband, etc. to wear, that would totally be in the spirit! We’d love to have 3rd, 4th, 5th graders, and anyone else who wants to come – no experience necessary! Afterwards, we usually go to Zander’s for some icecream!

If you’re interested, contact Danielle Goodwin at dgoodwin@vinu.edu

If your child is an adult and became a member of First Church, and has since moved away, would you please call the church office with name, address, date of marriage, etc. so we can update our records? Thanks!!

THE UPPER ROOM DEVOTIONALS FOR MAY/JUNE are on the book tables at either entrance to the sanctuary for those who wish a copy. Donations are appreciated.

Sunday, Feb. 28, will be Faith Promise Sunday. In preparation, let us consider the meaning of Faith Promise:

A Faith Promise pledge is a Promise between only God and the giver. God guides us in deciding on a mission or ministry in which we can serve or in a monetary amount that we will give. We trust God to provide us with the talent, energy, resources and funds to fulfill the Promise.
